Summary of all current fishing lead

Fishing pencils come in many different types, each with a unique design and shape suitable for different uses. You can score points such as: ball lead, bullet lead, bell lead, rubber lead, egg lead, bottom net lead, etc. To discover all the encyclopedias of fishing lead, please refer to the information below:

Pencil

Or another name is split shot: the shape is small round lead balls, if you look at them, you will see that they are very similar to marbles. However, the fishing ball lead has a single-sided open groove design and the purpose of this groove is to stick to the line. There are several types of designs on the back such as a convenient clip for removing the lead, reused for the next time.

Ball lead sizes range from 1/64oz to 1oz. The advantage of the split shot lead is that it is easy to adjust, easy to wire. You will comfortably move the ball lead up and down smoothly, for both live and live bait fishing. If the angler is used for freshwater fishing, clamp the lead on the hook (using a combination of fine lines) to let the bait float and control the speed of the bait floating in the water.

The way to combine split shot lead with tag is the most basic style. The special thing about this fishing line is that it is not required to tie knots to change the position of the ball lead on the fishing line.

Bullet lead

Another name is bullet. So-called because this fishing lead has an outer shape like a bullet, others have a conical shape similar to an egg lead. This type of fishing lead slides along the line through a small hole located in the center. As soon as it connects to the line, the lead tip points towards the top of the fishing rod for easy identification.

The use of this cone shape is to support the fishing line to easily slide smoothly through moss or underwater obstacles. This lead is most suitable for live bait as a replacement for surf lead but the main application of bullet shots is in combination with carolina or texas cards in sizes from 1/8oz to 1/2oz, lead weights from 1/8oz to 1oz. The carolina tag is popular and effective for bass fishing, for any soft plastic bait.

Rubber Lead

Another way is called rubber core. Elongated rubber lead shape, with an additional black rubber pad in the center of the grip slot. Sometimes this lead is round, but the two pieces of rubber always form two small ears located at the ends. The purpose of these two rubber ears is to twist firmly when clamping the wire to hold the wire in place, turning it upside down to remove the lead from the wire.

The utility of this lead is reflected in the ability to quickly remove and attach without causing the fishing line to be scratched. On the market, rubber leads come in many different sizes, commonly used when fishing live bait or attached to a gill line to allow the bait to go deeper underwater. Sizes from 1/16oz to 1 ½oz, for extra weight.

Shining lead

The English name is bank. Similar in appearance to a teardrop shape, the lead consists of six flat edges instead of the usual round shape. The lead bank is not attached with metal eyelets at the top, but it is molded with holes to facilitate tying the fishing line.

The six edges of this fishing lead are ground flat in order to minimize the lead from rolling around if it accidentally encounters flowing water. The tapered head avoids getting entangled in algae, moss, rocks or any obstacles in the water. Sizes from 1/8oz to 2oz, weights from 1oz to 6oz, square edge helps the bait stay in the desired position.

Lead Bell

Bell lead is also known as lead bell. This fishing lead has a teardrop or bell-like shape. The design of the bell lead is usually attached with a round eyelet at the top. The main material that makes up the ring is usually made of plastic or brass. Hook-shaped plastic eyelets support users to attach and remove quickly without having to knot.

Sizes 1/8oz to 2oz and bell lead are the most popular and loved by all anglers. For those who fish on the boat, use a three-ring as a card, which helps to create the bait deep into the bottom of the water without the need to reinforce any other tools. Besides, it also ensures that the lead glides to the bottom when gliding with the bait suspended in the upper water layer. It is recommended to use a three way fishing line with the main rotating eyelet on the card, known as the river fish killer.

Lead diss

Lead diss has a flattened circular shape with a concave center and is used for fishing in fast-moving waters. But the suitable terrain for fishing for diss lead is flat bottom (bridge foot) or piled bottom. Lead weight 1/2oz to 4oz.

Egg Lead

Another name is egg. This fishing lead is shaped like an egg, used with live bait. Egg lead is still the most favorite type of fisherman thanks to the design that is difficult to entangle, easily rolls when moving on the bottom. Lead can slide along the wire as far as you want, usually with a ball of lead located at the ends to stop it. Sizes 1/8oz to 11oz, multi use with lead weight 1/8oz to 1oz.

Lead quadrilateral block

Or a solid triangle lead, pyramid lead. This is the type of lead that is attached with eyelets on the bottom, if erect, this fishing lead is like a miniature pyramid. When tying, the top of the lead will bend down and reverse, so it is suitable for fast and strong waters.

This special shape also helps lead quickly sink into the water in a short time. Each angle does not cause the lead to roll along the bottom due to water waves. Especially when used in the bottom water with a lot of soft sand and mud, the block tetragonal lead will bury itself under the soft bottom layer. This type is ideal for fishing in locations with fast flowing water, sandy bottoms and strong waves. Lead weight from 1oz to 8oz.

Bottom surfing fishing lead

Another name is lead walking. Bottom surfer has many different shapes, but the most common is still the rectangular shape, round the outer edges. Sometimes it is flat, pierced above, the tip is smaller than the bottom and slightly curved. The weight of lead glides down towards the bottom edge, the weight is evenly distributed in the direction of the curvature, roundness of the edge.

This unique design makes the lead easily glide through gravel and rocks, minimizing the problem of entanglement with foreign objects. Flat outer edge prevents bottom rolling in strong water. This type of fishing lead is often used for gill fishing and river bait near the bottom. The advantage of this lead is that it doesn't make the fish perceive the bait obstructed, sizes 1/8oz to 4oz, weight: 1/8oz to 1 1/2oz. Use a sliding sinker bottom card, the most popular for live bait fishing.

Lead drop shot

This fishing lead is divided into two different shapes, cylindrical and circular. Each type of design is suitable for different types of sentences. The biggest difference between drop shot lead and other types of lead is that the hook is quick to remove, attach or adjust in the position near / far from the bait. The cylindrical type is better used than the round shape because of its small diameter without entanglement, the round type is used in sandy areas to avoid dust. Sizes 1/8oz to 5/8oz.

Some other types of fishing lead

  • Lead Hatteras: this lead has a shape similar to a bomb, it is easier to sink into the mud than a pyramid, but the inconvenience is followed by moss clinging to it.
  • Lead tube: (tube) used to pierce the line, for the type of plant bait, cut short into pieces depending on the purpose of use.
  • Lead wire: (wire) is almost a pipe lead, used for many fishing cases such as fishing with fake bait, wrapped in hooks.
  • Hexagonal lead: (hexagone) designed to keep the bait at the bottom not drifting with the flowing water, easy to sink into the sand and mud.
  • Hillman lead: used for baiting spoons in strong flowing deep water, avoiding the wire being twisted or tangled because the wire is tied right at the steel rod.
  • Bottled lead: (bottle): quite handy lead, capable of replacing many different lead weights by removing lead from plastic pipes, heavy or light weight depends entirely on your choice.
  • Half moon: (half moon) only use fake bait to limit twisting because this shape helps to surf the water faster, facilitating long throws.
  • Twisted lead (olive jardine)
  • Three-kia lead: only for carp fishing, including a flat surface, three notched edges to avoid entanglement of moss.
  • Satellite lead: (breakaway) used to fish in the sandy bottom, strong water, lead body with four steel rods to fix in the sand to limit being swept by water. Sometimes satellite lead is also attached with plastic wings at the tail to recover lead in areas that are often entangled. Sizes from 1oz to 8oz.
  • Lead plug: (soutenir) consists of four long steel poles embedded deep in the sand in a strong whirlpool position, less entangled, and quickly retracted.
  • Floating lead: (floating) is commonly used for gill-fishing by boat, used for harbor fishing, shore fishing, and good car melasma. Float lead holds bait close to the bottom when the water is rough, sizes 1oz to 6oz.
  • Round lead: (cannon ball) specialized to drag the bait close to or in the water you want, sizes 1/2oz to 48oz.
